Nothing Personal is an Oslo-based trio featuring Solveig Wang (Fieh, Masåva, Harald Lassen), Thea Wang (thea wang, AURORA) and Dorothea Økland (Klossmajor). Together, they cultivate a musical universe balancing meticulously crafted pop melodies with free improvisation, electronic experimentation, and the hypnotic live visuals of Tobias Gulbrandsen.
Armed with synths, vocals, drum machines, clarinet, pedals and electronics, Nothing Personal creates vivid sonic collages in real time. Their music weaves catchy pop hooks with unexpected twists: samples, spoken-word snippets, and fragments from letters that were never sent.
In May 2024, Nothing Personal released their second album, “The Diary of Nothing Personal,” on Braveheart Records (home to artists such as Mikhael Paskalev, Jonas Alaska and Billie Van). The record was met with glowing reviews and hailed as a fresh breeze in Norwegian pop music. Bergens Tidende awarded it a perfect score, calling it “a new way of making Norwegian pop music,” while Aftenposten described the band as a supergroup that “challenges and creates great art.”
