Shape the Echo er et levende bibliotek som feirer arven etter den afroamerikanske science fiction-forfatteren Octavia E. Butler og går parallelt med American Artists utstilling, "The Monophobic Response", på Kunsthall Trondheim fra 25. september til 12. oktober. Rommet fungerer som et sted å roe ned, fordybe seg i lesning, høre til og forestille seg alternativer gjennom bøker skrevet av forfattere inspirert av Butler, akkurat slik Butler inspirerte American Artists utstilling.
Når The Monophobic Response avsluttes på Kunsthall Trondheim, vil biblioteket flyttes videre til Trondheim folkebibliotek.

Shape the Echo is a living library that celebrates the legacy of African American science fiction author Octavia E. Butler and runs in parallel with American Artist's exhibition, "The Monophobic Response", at Kunsthall Trondheim from September 25 to October 12. The space serves as a place to slow down, read deeply, belong, and imagine otherwise through books authored by writers inspired by Butler, just as Butler inspired American Artist's exhibition.
After The Monophobic Response closes at Kunsthall Trondheim, the library will relocate to Trondheim City Library.
